Nicole Severson is an accomplished banking professional, financial planner, and U.S. Air Force veteran with nearly a decade of leadership experience in retail banking. As Branch Manager at the National Bank of Commerce, she oversees daily branch operations, leads and mentors her team, and ensures exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with industry regulations. Known for her results-driven approach, Nicole combines strong leadership, operational expertise, and financial knowledge to help both clients and employees achieve their goals. Her ability to foster trust, accountability, and professional growth has made her a respected leader within her organization.
Nicole's career reflects a steady progression built on dedication, adaptability, and service. After beginning her banking career as a teller, she quickly advanced into leadership roles through her commitment to operational excellence and customer relationships. Before entering banking, she served in the U.S. Air Force, where she completed hazardous cargo training and developed the discipline and organizational skills that continue to shape her leadership style. Her professional background also includes experience in communications and community engagement, further strengthening her ability to connect with people and lead diverse teams. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Transportation and Logistics Management from the University of Wisconsin–Superior, providing her with a strong foundation in business operations and strategic planning.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to learning from others while staying true to myself. I take inspiration from their experiences, then add my own passion, creativity, and personal style to everything I do.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Always ask questions of course and don't be afraid to take chances. Be confident in what you've done.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be afraid to ask questions. Stay curious, seek guidance, and embrace every opportunity to learn—asking questions is one of the fastest ways to grow and build confidence in your career.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The fraud that we have to deal with every single day because those fraudsters are very realistic on transactions and people are nervous about their accounts.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My personal life is my faith because without that I think I would have lost my mind after losing my husband. At work just having that relationship with my coworkers and my customers makes the day go by easier.
