What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to always being willing to learn new things and keeping an open mind to more effective ways to accomplish a goal. Staying curious and adaptable has helped me grow, take on new challenges, and continuously improve in both my personal and professional life.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
People are going to underestimate you and judge a book by its cover, it’s unfortunately human nature. You will have to work harder to earn the same level of respect as some of your peers, especially working in a male dominated field. Don’t let that stop you from pursuing anything you want in your career or your life, because you are capable of anything you set your mind to and proving people wrong is the best motivation.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is: don’t be afraid to speak up. Your perspective is valuable, and your confidence grows every time you advocate for yourself and your ideas. Trust your voice—it matters.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in the field right now is staying ahead of cyber criminals. As threats become more sophisticated, there’s a constant need to adapt, innovate, and invest in stronger, layered security measures. It’s a fast-moving space, but that also creates exciting opportunities to lead with proactive solutions and make a real impact on protecting organization’s data and reputations online.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, humor, and passion. I believe in doing the right thing, even when no one is watching; bringing positivity and lightness to the day through humor; and staying passionate about the work I do and the people I connect with. These values keep me grounded, motivated, and authentic in everything I take on.
