Ten minutes with Nicole
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
When I was much younger, starting off my career, I had a mentor who would always tell me to be your unapologetic, authentic self. You open doors for yourself. Just be who you are, you don't have to conform to anyone else. I've used that and carried that with me throughout my professional life.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges would be how fast the business grew and how ever-changing it was. Every day there was something new, a fire that needed to be put out, needing to learn quickly about merging organizations, paints, colors, machinery, distribution, and not disrupting the customer base.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My values are very Christian-based, so being honest, being transparent, being kind to individuals, and also just being your authentic self, and being unapologetic about who you are as an individual. I don't stand for gossip or complaining. I like to place issues head-on with my team and say we are working together on this.
