Her Interview

Ten minutes with Nicole

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute much of my success to my passion for what I do, the people I have had the opportunity to work with, and my genuine desire to help others succeed. Throughout my time in the industry, I have approached challenges with optimism and curiosity, asking, “How can we figure this out together?” Rather than seeing obstacles as setbacks, I view them as opportunities to learn, solve problems, and find better ways forward. This mindset has enabled me to continually grow professionally while building strong, meaningful relationships along the way.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to be authentic and assume nothing. Early in my career in a traditionally male-dominated industry, I often felt pressure to present myself in a certain way, from how I spoke to even something as simple as the color of my nails. Over time, I realized that trying to conform was holding me back from showing up as my full, authentic self. Embracing who I am gave me greater confidence and freedom while allowing me to build deeper, more meaningful relationships. I have learned that genuine connections come naturally when people can see that you truly care about them, their experiences, and the conversations you share.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the legal technology industry is to embrace your authenticity and have confidence in who you are. You do not need to change yourself to fit a particular expectation or environment. Being genuine helps build trust, strengthen professional relationships, and create deeper connections with the people around you. I also encourage women to think intentionally about the legacy they are creating. That means supporting and mentoring those coming behind you while also learning from and building bridges with the generations who came before you. By lifting others as you grow, you can make a meaningful and lasting impact on both your profession and the people within it.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I see tremendous opportunity in artificial intelligence and emerging technology, particularly in the ways these tools can enhance everyday work, create efficiencies, and ultimately give people more time for what matters most. At the same time, AI brings understandable concerns and resistance, making it important for professionals to educate themselves, conduct proper due diligence, and understand how to use technology responsibly and effectively. One of the biggest challenges in my field is keeping pace with the speed of technological change while helping people navigate uncertainty and overcome resistance to transformation. I see those challenges as opportunities to educate, build confidence, and help others discover practical ways technology can support their work. On a personal level, maintaining work-life balance continues to require intentional effort. I made a commitment to myself that technology would not take priority over time with my children, so I protect family time by blocking my calendar, establishing clear boundaries, and saying no when necessary. When my children are home, being present and giving them my full attention is a priority.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me, both professionally and personally, are integrity, curiosity, relationships, and resilience. I believe in producing quality work and being someone others can trust and depend on. Curiosity keeps me learning, growing, and exploring new possibilities, while resilience helps me navigate challenges and continue moving forward. I also place great importance on building meaningful relationships and creating opportunities not only for myself but for those around me. Education, continuous development, and helping others grow are especially important to me because I believe that sharing knowledge and investing in people can create a lasting impact.
