Her Interview

Ten minutes with Nicolle

01What do you attribute your success to?

I believe my work as a journalist is a calling. It is my passion to tell stories and to tell the truth fully no matter how big or small the topic may seem. Any success I have along the way in my career is because I do the little things right, one day at a time.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Learn how to say no. It's easy to say yes to everything but you do well for yourself and for others when you figure out what kind of work is aligned and what kind of work is not.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

People try to put us in a box and tell us we can either be career-focused or focus on family, but when you tell yourself you can have it all, you go after things harder and accomplish all goals. You have to know your limits and take care of yourself along the way so you can have it all but don't lose yourself in it.
