About Nidia

Nidia Pech is a medical device sales professional with nearly three years of experience, specializing in antiseptics for bedside bathing and pre- and post-operative care to advance infection prevention. She holds a bachelor's degree in molecular biology from Cal State Monterey. Before transitioning to sales, she worked for three years in research and development, where she designed and executed a four-month experiment that increased cell recovery by 20 percent on a novel microfluidic device for early tumor detection. Motivated by her mother's experience with cancer and time spent in hospitals as a child, Nidia sought a role that would allow her to impact patient outcomes on a broader scale across the Pacific Northwest. In her first year in medical sales, she became the number one sales associate nationally. She currently serves as president of the Professional Women's Alliance within her company and as vendor liaison for infection prevention groups in Oregon, Washington, and San Francisco. Nidia attributes her success to the work ethic and perspective instilled by her mother.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Nidia

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would attribute my success to my mom. Growing up I was very aware of what's important in life and what's not, and it really puts things into perspective as far as work ethic. You don't make decisions based on how you feel. You make decisions based on what needs to be done. It's just really helped me power forward and not let the day-to-day things get to me, because I truly believe regardless of what's going on in your life and how hard times might get, as long as you have your health, you have another day to be a better you.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to always work in the sense of the role that you want, not the role that you have.
