About Niharika

Niharika Adhikari serves as front office supervisor at one of the highest franchise hotels in Arlington, Virginia, a position she assumed in March following her graduation. Originally from Nepal, she earned her bachelor's degree in hotel management there before completing a master's degree in business administration in hospitality and tourism from Virginia Tech in December. Her professional career in the hospitality industry began in 2021 with an internship at the Ritz-Carlton in Doha. She handles varied shifts including morning, evening, and overnight auditor duties, taking on leadership responsibilities especially during night audits. Niharika values honesty and trust above all and credits her achievements to endless learning combined with a deep passion for the industry. She advises aspiring professionals, particularly young women, to approach the field with patience and passion rather than viewing it solely as work.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say endless learning, and having that passion to learn, and I think there is a lot to go. This is just the first step.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

If you have passion in what you are doing then you can succeed in no matter what. Like, me, coming from Nepal, from a small country like Nepal, I never dreamed I would be working as a young leader in Hyatt Centric. So if you have passion to what you are doing you will really succeed in your life.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say never dare to dream. If you are really passionate, don't get overwhelmed, because Hospitality industry can be really overwhelming. Just as a work, but take it as a passion, where you enjoy each and every day. Be patient and have the passion for the hospitality industry, and trust me, it is a beautiful industry.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The first thing comes honesty, always. And I would say honesty and trust. That is the biggest value that if you want to be trusted, first you should trust somebody else.
