About Nikhila
Nikhila Vakulabaranam is a financial advisor based in Seattle, Washington. After earning a bachelor's degree in electronics and communications engineering, she pivoted into finance after discovering an interest in risk management while working at Amazon and later in financial services at firms including Goldman Sachs and RCJM. She went on to complete a master's degree in finance and obtained her SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 credentials to work as a financial advisor helping clients with wealth management and financial literacy. Nikhila serves as director for the Accounting and Finance Women's Alliance, where she volunteers to support continuing education and professional development for women in accounting and finance. She advises professionals to communicate proactively so that others never wonder what is happening and encourages young women entering the industry to explore different fields and options sooner to find the right fit.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Never let the other person wonder what's happening. Communicate proactively so 80% of issues disappear because you are actively communicating.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be open to exploring different fields and options sooner. Figure out what you want to do, everything else can wait. Try different things to find what fits.
