Nikiya J. Dixon, widely known as Chef KD, is a versatile culinary professional with over 15 years of experience transforming her passion for home cooking into a thriving career in the food industry. A graduate of the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, she has served in roles ranging from Private Chef to Executive Sous Chef, and now Back of House Manager and Chef with the Hattiesburg Convention Commission. Nikiya is well-known for her ability to craft elevated Southern-style dishes, as well as her creative takes on fast-casual cuisine, catering events for over 500 guests and managing kitchen operations across multiple venues.
Before stepping fully into the culinary world, Nikiya built a successful career in mortgage services, with a strong background in underwriting, loan servicing, and training. This unique blend of business acumen and culinary expertise has shaped her leadership style—one grounded in efficiency, innovation, and high standards. Whether she’s leading back-of-house teams, developing new recipes, or delivering fine dining experiences as a private chef, Nikiya’s commitment to excellence and her deep love for food shine through in every plate she creates.
