About Nikki

Nikki Burris serves as VP of Human Resources at Horning Management Group, a role she has held for a little over a year and a half. With nearly 20 years of experience in HR, she has worked across several industries but found her true passion in property management. Previously, she spent three years as Senior Director of Human Resources at a Hyundai Motor Group affiliate startup in the urban air mobility sector, where she built the HR function from the ground up, growing the team from four to 23 people. Earlier, she worked at Cushman and Wakefield for a year and a half. Nikki holds a bachelor's degree from Christopher Newport University, where she was a college athlete playing basketball, and a master's in Human Resource Management from Strayer University. She has earned several HR certifications from George Mason University, maintains SHRM membership, holds the SHRM-CP, and is studying for the SHRM-SCP. She specializes in operations, employee relations, and advocating for AI to streamline HR processes. Nikki attributes her success to overcoming a life of adversity without backing down from challenges and values integrity, leading with empathy, compassion, and being community-focused. She is an advocate for the LGBTQ community and DEI initiatives, as well as a breast cancer survivor advocate.

I have lived a life of a lot of adversity but I don't back down from challenges. I am accustomed to it and it is just my life.
