Her Interview
Ten minutes with Niloufar
01What do you attribute your success to?
People doubting me when younger and being bullied motivated me to prove them wrong and be the best version of myself. I come from a family of entrepreneurs with aunts who have startups and a father who is a good businessman; I learned my hard work ethic from them.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
It's a volume thing. Don't give up on consistently reaching out to people even after rejections; one person will eventually respond and open doors to many other things. I got into music because of that.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be scared of working in a male-dominated industry. Believe in yourself, stand your ground, and value yourself so others will value you more. Fake it till you make it if it helps build confidence.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
As an artist or producer, standing out and proving your music is not AI-generated is a huge challenge because people stereotype everything as AI-made. As A&Rs, it's difficult to know if songs or artists are fully AI, which is important when signing someone.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being genuine and showing who you are as a person rather than who you represent. Kindness and being helpful to others without expecting anything in return, as good karma may come back.
