01What do you attribute your success to?
A lot of hard work and getting up after failures. I am lucky to have an amazing family support, especially my husband who helps with canvases and as a sounding board.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
From my tech mentor: you are the one above the water looking for the sharks, not in the weeds. From art mentor: don't create for others or to sell, create honestly for yourself and people will connect.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Find something that makes you happy and excited to go to work or studio every day. Money will follow if you do what brings you joy and growth.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges include the subjective and emotional nature of art, changing economy and political environment. Opportunities in using chaos like AI for good to build better communities rather than selfish gains.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being a people's person and never stepping on others. Honesty in everything I do. Personal growth and learning every day.
