Her Story
About Nina
I am a product operations and implementation leader with a passion for building systems, scaling organizations, and creating equitable access to education and professional development. I currently serve as Product Ops Manager at Toro TMS, a role I have held since November 2025, where I lead product operations and drive efficiency across the organization. Prior to this, I served as Implementation Manager and Implementation Lead at Toro TMS, where I managed client onboarding and implementation processes, ensuring successful adoption and long-term partnership.
Alongside my corporate work, I am the Founder and CEO of Pre-Health Shadowing, an organization I established in September 2020 to provide free, virtual shadowing experiences to students pursuing careers in healthcare. In just over five years, I have grown Pre-Health Shadowing from zero to over fifty-seven thousand students globally, recruited and managed a team of over thirty-five students and three thousand seven hundred volunteers, partnered with BetterHelp to provide free mental health resources, and distributed scholarships to students in need. We have expanded our programs to include research opportunities, community college programs, and high school transition initiatives, and we have received recognition and funding from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) for our work in fighting inequity in health education and promoting diversity across healthcare fields.
I also serve as an Advisory Board Member for the Women in Leadership program at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, a role I have held since January 2023, where I support the development of the program through advocacy and review of course offerings.
Earlier in my academic career, I served as a Research Assistant at the META Lab at UC Santa Barbara, where I wrote scientific papers, conducted literature reviews, pre-processed and analyzed data, and assisted with behavioral, self-report, and EEG experiments. I also served as an Undergraduate Student Observer at the Jensen Lab at the University of California, Merced, where I participated in remote lab meetings and engaged with graduate and post-doctoral researchers studying the implications of the parasite Toxoplasma gondii.
Across my career in product operations, implementation, and education equity, my work has been driven by a commitment to building systems that empower people and create lasting impact. Whether I am scaling a product operations team, leading a global organization that provides free healthcare shadowing to underserved students, or advocating for women in leadership, I bring strategic vision, operational excellence, and a deep dedication to making education and opportunity accessible to all. I am proud of the work I have done and excited to continue building organizations and initiatives that create meaningful change.
