Her Interview

Ten minutes with Nina

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to perseverance, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a strong sense of accountability. I consistently push through challenges rather than avoiding them, and I view each experience as an opportunity to grow and improve. By staying open to new knowledge and continuously developing my skills, I am able to adapt to changing circumstances and remain effective in my work. I also hold myself accountable for my actions and outcomes, which helps me maintain focus, integrity, and a high standard of performance in everything I do.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to keep going no matter what and always put my best foot forward. I’ve learned that progress is often built through persistence during difficult or uncertain moments, and that consistency matters just as much as talent or opportunity. By continuing to move forward despite setbacks and showing up with effort and professionalism in every situation, I’ve been able to build resilience and maintain momentum in my career.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the accounting industry is to take advantage of training programs and educational opportunities to help you find the right fit within the field. Accounting offers many different paths, and exploring those options early can help you discover where your strengths and interests align best. Stay curious, be willing to learn, and seek out experiences that build both your technical skills and confidence. With the right preparation and mindset, you can establish a strong foundation and find a rewarding direction in your career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is helping professionals build confidence and overcome self-doubt, especially when they are still early in their careers or transitioning into new roles. Many people also struggle with identifying the right niche, which can make it difficult to fully develop their strengths or advance strategically. At the same time, this presents a strong opportunity to focus on mentorship, continued learning, and career exploration. With the right guidance and willingness to try different areas, individuals can better define their path and position themselves for long-term success.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, honesty, and accountability. I believe integrity guides me to do the right thing even when no one is watching, while honesty allows me to build trust and maintain clear, transparent relationships with others. Accountability ensures that I take responsibility for my actions and outcomes, learn from my experiences, and continually strive to improve. Together, these values shape how I approach challenges, make decisions, and interact with others in a consistent and professional manner.
