About Nina
Nina Mattana, MD, is a physician and diagnostic radiologist with more than 27 years of experience at Englewood Radiologic Group in Englewood, New Jersey. She specializes in breast imaging and breast imaging intervention and has dedicated her career to providing attentive, personalized care to patients. She completed her Doctor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and subsequently completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Throughout her career, she has maintained a strong commitment to excellence in radiology and patient care.
Dr. Mattana's professional philosophy is centered on determination, lifelong learning, and compassionate patient care. She believes that success comes from never quitting, striving to give 100% each day, remaining goal-driven, and continually pursuing education and new knowledge. Her approach to leadership emphasizes authenticity, purpose, positivity, and leading by example. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to determination, setting goals, and striving to give 100% every day. I believe success comes from never quitting and continuing to move forward even when challenges arise. I am also committed to continuing education and remain eager to learn new things throughout my career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I believe in authentic leadership, having a clear sense of purpose, and maintaining the drive to continue growing. Bringing positivity to a team creates an environment where positivity can come back to you. I also believe that the more you know, the more you grow.
I have learned not to be intimidated by others, but instead to stand tall, be proud of who I am, and know my worth. At the same time, I believe in enjoying the process while continuing to strive for excellence and personal perfection.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage others to follow: remain determined, never quit, continue learning, know your worth, avoid being intimidated by others, maintain positivity, and strive for excellence while enjoying the process.
. The most important thing though is to listen to your patients and understand their needs.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
My greatest priority and opportunity is to continue serving my patients with excellent patient care while reaching more women who need my expertise and guidance during difficult times in their lives.
I want to continue providing compassionate, personalized care and helping women navigate challenging periods with knowledge, support, and confidence.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me are integrity, honesty, and loyalty. I also believe strongly in being kind and considerate toward others and leading by example.
I believe it is important to inspire women through empathy, compassion, and genuine listening. Being a good listener and understanding what others are experiencing are essential parts of how I approach both my professional and personal life.
