Her Interview
Ten minutes with Nina
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first to God, and then to being persistent and believing in myself and knowing that this is what I'm meant to do. Believing that this is going to work out and you are meant to be doing the things that you are passionate about.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received is that you're not going to succeed all the time. You're going to make mistakes, and that's okay. From those mistakes is what you learn, how you get better, how you do succeed. So we have to have those little bumps along the way to be successful.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be willing to accept those mistakes and learn from them, be willing to listen to others that give you some advice and take that and value that, and just be persistent. Don't give up just because something didn't work out the first time.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The challenges lead to the opportunity. There's a lot of mental health coaches out there but each has a different niche and different experience. The blend of my experience and background makes the difference, and opportunities came up like recently being offered speaking engagements. Our stories are how we help others.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Number one is that I know God leads my life. He's in the center of my life, and that's very important to me because I know that how I am able to do all the skills I have is from him. Then of course my family, they have been a huge part of support and care. Being able to write this book was very much an encouragement from my family members. So when you have the support and the love, that helps you be successful.
