About Nisha
Nisha has spent approximately 10 years in the machine learning and software engineering field. She began her professional journey at Meta, formerly Facebook, as her first job after college, working on a research and development team that provided early exposure to machine learning and applied research. This foundation positioned her well for advancements in the AI field. Nisha earned her master's degree in computer science from USC in Los Angeles, which offered solid coursework in machine learning and AI. She has been in her current role at Credit Karma for around four years, where she manages the feature store for recommendation platforms, overseeing data quality, the data lifecycle, and governance while mentoring junior engineers and cross-functional teams on machine learning concepts. Among her notable achievements, Nisha led the transition to the next generation of machine learning and feature stores at Credit Karma. She has also earned hackathon awards, including first place for a camera app project at Meta and a credit card recommendation project at Credit Karma. Additionally, Nisha contributed to philanthropic efforts by serving as the software engineering lead for UNICEF's lila.help project, which helps domestic violence victims find reliable shelters.
