Her Interview

Ten minutes with Nitisha

01What do you attribute your success to?

My life and leadership are rooted in my faith and a desire to reflect Christ in the way I serve others. I believe my purpose is to use my voice to help people discover their God given potential, grow in confidence, and walk fully in the purpose for which they were created. At the heart of my leadership is a genuine love for people. I believe every person has inherent value, every story matters, and every statistic represents a life worthy of dignity, compassion, and hope. Whether developing leaders, building organizations, mentoring women, or serving communities, I strive to lead with authenticity, integrity, and grace. I measure success not only by outcomes achieved, but by lives impacted. My greatest fulfillment comes from helping people grow, strengthening organizations to fulfill their mission, and leaving every person and every place better than I found it.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the most influential lessons I have learned throughout my career is that every statistic represents a real person. That simple truth has shaped the way I lead, serve, and build relationships. Whether in fundraising, leadership development, or organizational strategy, I have found that lasting impact is never built through transactions it is built through genuine relationships. When people feel seen, valued, and understood, trust grows, collaboration deepens, and meaningful change becomes possible. That perspective continues to guide every leadership decision I make.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to maintain a people first mindset and be intentional about choosing environments that align with their values, purpose, and God-given strengths. While financial success is important, lasting impact comes from doing meaningful work that allows you to fully use your gifts in service to others. Never stop learning, remain adaptable, and embrace opportunities that stretch your leadership. Build authentic relationships, lead with integrity, and remember that your greatest influence will never come from your title alone it will come from the way you value people, serve with excellence, and help others grow.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the greatest challenges and opportunities in nonprofit leadership today is navigating the rapid pace of technological change while ensuring people remain at the center of every decision. Emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, are transforming the way organizations learn, communicate, and operate. Rather than fearing these advancements, I believe leaders should embrace them thoughtfully and use them to enhance not replace human connection. For me, innovation is most effective when it creates greater efficiency, expands organizational capacity, and allows leaders to spend more time developing people, building meaningful relationships, and advancing mission. The future belongs to leaders who are willing to keep learning, adapt with wisdom, and use technology responsibly without losing sight of the people they serve.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide both my professional and personal life are faith, compassion, authenticity, integrity, and a genuine commitment to understanding people. I strive to recognize the God given gifts and unique strengths within every individual and help them develop their full potential. I believe every person has inherent value and something meaningful to contribute. Whether leading teams, mentoring emerging leaders, or serving my community, I am passionate about creating environments where people feel seen, valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. I believe that when people are developed well, organizations become stronger and communities are transformed.
