About Nixie

I've been in the property and casualty insurance industry for 14 years, with a unique career path that has given me diverse experience. I started on the commercial lines side, then moved into accounting and HR roles within the insurance world. When our company was acquired, I saw an opportunity for growth and decided to return to commercial lines work. Now I'm client-facing again, handling marketing submissions for new and existing business, managing retention, and providing concierge service for higher revenue accounts with significant auto portfolios. I work closely with clients who have hundreds of vehicles, conducting regular audits every 6 months to ensure accuracy. I also handle claims support, help clients through the adjuster process, and identify cross-selling opportunities, particularly in the growing cyber insurance space for web-based businesses. What I love most about being back in a client-facing role is the relationships. In my banking days, I received multiple customer service awards, and returning to direct client work has reminded me how rewarding it is to develop rapport with people, know their families and work lives, and have meaningful interactions. I have far more positive encounters than negative ones, and it's incredibly fulfilling. Beyond client service, I'm passionate about training and have been able to pick things back up so quickly that I'm now assisting with training new hires. I hold my P&C license and earned my CISR designation. I'm currently pursuing my CIC certification and have completed 2 out of 5 required tests. I'm also involved with the Emerging Leaders program through the NIIA, which has been a great networking opportunity as I reestablish myself in the commercial lines space after my time away.
