Her Story

About Noelle

Noelle Yanagawa is an early-career educator with a passion for supporting young children during their formative years. After earning her bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton in 2023, she gained experience in after-school programs and daycare settings before discovering that pre-K was the age group she enjoyed most. She currently serves as a Pre-K Teacher at Stratford School, where she works alongside a co-teacher to guide approximately 24 students and help prepare them for a successful transition to kindergarten.

Throughout her career, Noelle has embraced opportunities to explore her interests and develop practical experience. Her professional journey has taught her that it is perfectly acceptable not to have every career decision figured out immediately. She encourages young women entering the workforce to give their best effort, pursue as many opportunities as possible, and remain open to discovering what they genuinely enjoy. Her motivation is also shaped by her family, particularly her role as the oldest sibling and the values of involvement, perseverance, and continuous improvement instilled by her parents.

Beyond the classroom, Noelle enjoys running, hiking throughout California, and spending time with friends and family. Her background as a swimmer has also inspired her to give swimming lessons to children, helping them become comfortable in the water while developing fundamental swimming skills. Looking ahead, she plans to continue working with children while exploring opportunities to earn teaching credentials for public-school education or potentially pursue a career in speech therapy. Her dedication to children, willingness to explore new possibilities, and commitment to personal growth continue to shape her professional journey.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Noelle

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of personal drive and the support of my family. From a young age, I’ve always challenged myself to do my best, stay involved, and pursue opportunities for growth. Being the oldest of several siblings also taught me the value of healthy competition, while my parents instilled a strong work ethic and encouraged us to participate in academics, sports, and other activities.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is to give your best, embrace as many opportunities as possible, and don’t be afraid if you’re still figuring things out. I knew I enjoyed working with children, but I wasn’t sure which path to pursue, so I gained experience in the field after earning my bachelor’s degree before choosing a credential program. Exploring your interests through experience can help you find the right direction.
