Her Interview
Ten minutes with Noemi
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being goal-driven, passionate, and committed to making my parents proud. I began my career in property management, but I quickly realized that it was not my true calling. When I transitioned into capital projects, I discovered how much I enjoyed turning ideas into tangible results and seeing projects come to life. That experience gave me a clear sense of purpose and strengthened my determination to pursue work that challenges me, inspires me, and allows me to make a meaningful impact.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is not to let challenges become overwhelming and to take things one day at a time. With demanding schedules, frequent travel, and people relying on me for guidance throughout the day, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed or lose perspective. I’ve learned to stay focused, prioritize what is in front of me, and avoid allowing pressure to cloud my judgment.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the facilities and construction industry is to be passionate about what you want, set clear goals, and pursue them with confidence. It can be an intimidating environment, particularly when working in a predominantly male industry, but I encourage women to believe in their abilities and not allow obstacles or outdated perceptions to define what they can accomplish. Stay focused on your goals, be willing to step outside your comfort zone, and do not be afraid to challenge expectations. Success comes from having the confidence to move forward, persevere, and create your own path.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity right now is professional organizations, mentoring groups, and industry associations which are increasingly focused on advancing women in facilities management. Networking, certifications, and leadership development programs can accelerate career growth.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
One of the most important values in both my personal and professional life is maintaining a balance between work and family. Family is my top priority, and I believe that creating time for the people who matter most helps me stay grounded, focused, and motivated in all areas of life. In a demanding field such as facilities services, where unexpected challenges and long hours can be common, achieving a sustainable work-life balance is essential for long-term success and personal well-being.
I am also passionate about health and wellness. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and developing healthy recipes, which allows me to combine creativity with my commitment to a healthy lifestyle. Sharing nutritious meals and ideas with others is a rewarding hobby that helps me connect with family, friends, and my community.
