About Nohely
Nohely Luna serves as a Systems Broadcast Engineer at NBC Universal in Los Angeles, supporting the news operations of KNBC and CAVEA. With nine and a half years at the company, she is the only woman on her team and handles multiple broadcast systems in a rapidly evolving technological environment that includes automation and digital streaming transitions. Luna earned her first Emmy Award in 2025 after years working in news. She grew up in Boston projects as the child of immigrant parents, put herself through college, and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her passion for film and television. Outside her core role, she volunteers by organizing toy drives and food drives on the Universal lot for the Ronald McDonald House and works to uplift Latino voices in media through screenings, content creation, and networking events across major studios.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be obsessed with what you want. Surround yourself with people who uplift you and avoid those who project their doubts. Be your biggest supporter, learn from failures, and create your own opportunities especially with technology and AI as tools. Put everything into it and don't give up.
