Her Story
About Nora
I've been in the financial services field for about 3 years now. My husband and I run Hidden Treasures Leadership Development, a business we started 3 to 4 years ago, though I've been fully engaged in it for the last 2 years. Before this, I was a software developer in the tech world - my background is actually in mathematics. We are mainly in the financial services business, helping individuals, business owners, and families grow their income, generate wealth and generational wealth for their families, and plan for retirement. We also coach other people who want to get into financial services. Maybe their background is in tech, maybe in nursing or health, and we help them transition little by little into the financial services. So far, we have helped about 200 people get licensed, because you need a license to do this work. We focus more on Texas in person, but we also work with people in the United States and Canada through Zoom or online conversations. My greatest achievement is really helping people awaken the leader in them and helping them see that they can do more than being at their jobs. This year already, we've helped about 2 people generate an extra $50,000 on the side while they still had their activities, their jobs, their families. We've also helped a few more people generate an extra $2,000, $3,000, $4,000 a month since January.

Ten minutes with Nora
01What do you attribute your success to?
I know for sure that to succeed somewhere, you can go by yourself - it's gonna take you longer, but if you go with a mentor, you're going to go faster. I've had different mentors, women mentors as well as men mentors, and I think the one thing that I've learned from my mentors is how my mindset changed, to become more entrepreneurial, and also become more consistent. Having mentors helped me understand more the entrepreneurship world, and also how to become a better person, how to become a better coach. Mentors are very important in anything that you do, whether it's to go to a workplace or in the business setting. My master's degree in applied mathematics also helped me to be more resilient and be determined to achieve something, because it was a very hard program. It showed me how, in life, you have to don't look at how you're gonna get there, just look at the end result. At the end, this is what you're going to achieve. Obviously, it might not be the straight way to your goals, maybe you're going to go left and right a little bit, but it's okay, as long as you keep your eyes on what you want to achieve, then you're going to succeed.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say this is a perfect time - there's no I'm too young, or I'm too old to get into this. It's the perfect timing for her, and I would say that the most thing, the first thing that she needs to do to succeed in this is to be coachable, and to be willing to learn. And to absorb everything like a sponge, because other people have paved the way for her so that she doesn't make the same mistakes. It's gonna be, first of all, it's a perfect time to get into this industry, and also be coachable, be ready to learn, and you will definitely change your life.
