Her Interview
Ten minutes with Olga
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my upbringing and the values instilled in me growing up in Russia. From an early age, I was taught that success comes through perseverance, continuous growth, and commitment to education. There was always an expectation to keep improving, continue learning, and strive for excellence. I also believe strongly that if I choose to do something, I should do it well. That mindset has guided me throughout my career and motivated me to continually grow as a leader and healthcare professional.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the most meaningful lessons I learned came from watching the older generation in my family, especially my grandmother. She taught me the importance of initiative, resilience, and self-reliance. I learned that if something needs to be done, you step forward and do it rather than waiting for someone else. That perspective has stayed with me throughout my career and has helped shape the way I approach leadership, responsibility, and personal growth.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women to consider imaging as a rewarding and growing healthcare field, especially for those who are interested in both patient care and technology. The industry needs new professionals, and women bring valuable strengths such as attention to detail, compassion, and strong patient-care instincts. Patience and perseverance are essential qualities in this profession. Imaging also offers an excellent alternative for individuals who may not want to pursue nursing but still want meaningful patient interaction while working with advanced medical technology and the science behind diagnostic imaging.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in imaging right now is workforce shortages. Healthcare organizations are actively looking for skilled imaging professionals, particularly individuals who are committed to patient care and teamwork. At the same time, this creates a tremendous opportunity for the next generation to enter a stable and evolving field with strong career growth potential. There is also an increasing opportunity for women to step into leadership positions within imaging and healthcare operations.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me are patience, perseverance, accountability, and doing quality work. I believe in giving my best effort in everything I do, whether it involves patient care, leadership, training staff, or supporting my team. I also value resilience and adaptability, especially because I have had to rebuild and start over multiple times while navigating different countries, cultures, and professional environments. Those experiences taught me the importance of dedication, continuous learning, and maintaining a strong work ethic.
