About Olia
Olia Polovneff is a visual artist and educator currently based in Chicago, Illinois. Born in Russia, she earned a bachelor's degree from an art university in St. Petersburg before her education and artistic practice blossomed in California. Polovneff specializes in art education and has taught English through art and science to elementary, high school, and adult students. She is a member of the Association of Russian-speaking Israeli Artists and the Society of Midwestern Artists. Her work focuses on acrylic landscapes inspired by nature and travel, often created en plein air, and she has built artistic communities in California, the Middle East, and the Midwest. Art has served as a source of resilience and self-expression for Polovneff throughout her life.
