Her Story
About Olivia
She is an emerging chemist and research scientist with experience across academic research, industrial R&D, and chemical engineering. She currently conducts Transition Metal Catalyst Research at Western New England University, investigating fluxional rhodium complexes using NMR to distinguish between enantiomers. Her earlier experience includes serving as a Research and Development Technician at Crane Currency, where she implemented process improvements, obtained a high-risk security clearance, documented critical findings, handled secure material audits, performed chemical and physical tests, and utilized NMR to examine production issues, as a Research and Product Development Scientist at Mativ, where she used scanning electron microscopy, and as an Engineer Intern at Onyx Specialty Papers, where she independently proposed chemical changes to improve test results. She also completed a CURCA Research internship at Westfield State University focused on in silico enzyme modification of dihydrofolate reductase, where she independently proposed amino acid replacements based on computational analysis. Her career reflects a deep commitment to scientific research, analytical precision, and process innovation across academic and industrial settings.
