About Olivia

Olivia Parks is the owner of Professional Organizers Baton Rouge, a Louisiana-based home organizing company specializing in decluttering, organization, packing, and unpacking services. Since founding the business in 2021, Olivia has grown it from a solo venture launched during the COVID-19 pandemic into a multi-location company serving Baton Rouge, New Orleans, the Northshore, and surrounding communities. Her team has helped more than 1,000 clients create more functional and manageable living spaces, earning more than 200 five-star reviews along the way.

Olivia began her entrepreneurial journey in her early 20s while working as a nanny and household assistant. Recognizing the growing need for professional home organization services, she launched her company and booked her first client within a week. She grew the business to six figures during its first year and went on to build a team capable of serving clients through a wide range of life transitions, including moving, downsizing, preparing for a new baby, divorce, loss, and the desire for a fresh start. Her work and expertise have also earned recognition in more than 50 publications, including Real Simple, Apartment Therapy, Reader’s Digest, Family Handyman, and The Washington Post, as well as local television and media features.

Beyond organizing homes, Olivia is passionate about entrepreneurship, leadership, and helping others build successful service-based businesses. She credits her growth to trusting herself, continuously learning, establishing strong business systems, and building a reliable team. Today, she is expanding her impact by sharing the lessons she has learned with other professional organizers who want to grow their own businesses. For Olivia, success is not solely measured by revenue or business growth, but by creating a company that provides meaningful service, supports her team and clients, and gives her the freedom to build the life she wants.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Olivia

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to trusting myself, staying focused on what I can control, and being willing to take action even when the timing isn’t perfect. Starting my business in my early 20s during COVID taught me to be resilient, adaptable, and confident in my ability to figure things out along the way. I’ve also learned from other successful business owners, continuously improved my systems and processes, and surrounded myself with a strong team. Most importantly, I stay focused on serving my clients well, learning from my experiences, and continuing to look for ways to grow both personally and professionally.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to start as early as possible and not be afraid to go all in. There will always be reasons to wait and people who may question your decisions, but you have to trust yourself and be willing to take the opportunity in front of you. I’ve learned that mistakes are part of the process, so it’s better to take action, learn from those mistakes, and keep moving forward rather than waiting for the perfect time. That mindset has helped me build confidence, grow my business, and continue pursuing opportunities that challenge me to become better.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women entering this industry to trust themselves, take their ideas seriously, and not let their age or other people’s opinions hold them back. Building a business requires confidence, resilience, and the willingness to learn from mistakes. It’s also important to establish clear boundaries, policies, and processes from the beginning, especially in a service-based industry. You can provide exceptional customer service while still protecting yourself, your team, and your business. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to start before you feel completely ready. Take the opportunity, learn as you go, and keep building.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in the home organizing industry right now is the growth of AI and the changing way people search for local businesses. While Google remains important, more people are using AI tools and platforms such as ChatGPT to discover services and businesses. This creates an opportunity for organizing companies to adapt their marketing strategies and make sure they are visible wherever potential clients are searching. At the same time, the industry continues to require strong customer service, effective systems, and the ability to clearly communicate the value of professional organizing. For me, staying informed about these changes and continually improving how we market and deliver our services is essential to continued growth.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me are integrity, growth, resilience, and treating people with respect. I believe in doing what I say I will do, taking responsibility for my decisions, and continuously looking for ways to improve. In my work, that means providing excellent service to clients, supporting my team, and building a business based on trust and strong relationships. In my personal life, I value family, freedom, gratitude, and creating a life that allows me to grow while also making time for the people and experiences that matter most to me.
