Her Story
About Olivia
Olivia Rush is a dancer and the founder of the nonprofit Sunshine Loves You, which she established in 2018 in Los Angeles, California. After experiencing a traumatic brain injury from bullying in the dance industry that left her unable to walk normally, she recovered through dance and began mentoring others by sharing her story. She started with peer chat support and progressed to hosting free, donation-based Dance to Make a Change events in New York and later in California, with proceeds supporting suicide prevention. Rush won an award presented at Instagram and Facebook headquarters in 2019. She is signed with Block Talent Agency, previously partnered with Champion for four years, and volunteers with Unique Movers in New York, which supports dancers with special needs. Rush runs all aspects of her nonprofit, including event planning, promotion, and securing choreographers. Her mentors include Theodore Rivera and Eddie Morales, who have guided her in standing up for herself and navigating the industry.
