Ten minutes with Olivia
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my progress to persistence, hard work and staying true to what I want to accomplish. I've wanted to pursue acting and entertainment since I was young, and I've learned not to let criticism or other people's opinions determine my direction. I believe in putting in the work behind the scenes, staying authentic and continuing to pursue opportunities even when the path isn't easy.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the most important lessons I've learned is not to let other people's words define who I am or what I'm capable of achieving. I've experienced criticism throughout my journey, but I've learned to focus on my goals rather than allowing negativity to influence my decisions.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't give up on what you want to achieve. Entertainment and sports media can be competitive industries, but that doesn't mean you should stop pursuing your goals. Work hard, stay authentic and don't let anyone convince you that your ambitions are unrealistic. Keep creating opportunities for yourself and believe in what you bring to the table.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I see tremendous opportunities for women in sports entertainment and digital media. The industry is changing, and social media has created new ways for women to develop their voices, build audiences and pursue careers in content creation and hosting. I'm constantly looking for ways women can become more involved in sports media and take advantage of those opportunities.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, authenticity, perseverance and mentorship are especially important to me. I believe strong leaders care about their teams and the well-being of the people around them. I'm also motivated by my family and supporters, who encourage me to keep growing. Ultimately, I want my work to inspire other women and girls to believe in themselves and pursue their goals.
