Dr. Oluwaremilekun Ojeriakhi is the Founder and CEO of EverCare Health Services Inc., a Maryland-based agency transforming quality and person-centered care for individuals under the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received has come from several mentors who shaped my path. Professor D.J. Vreede helped open doors and provided opportunities to explore new avenues. Mary West, Chairperson of Public Program Health, has been instrumental in guiding me throughout my career, and Sandy Weiss from the University of Florida offered invaluable support and insight along the way.

My advice to young women entering the healthcare industry is to pick yourself and try again—don’t hesitate or let opportunities slip by. Always put your best self forward, and make things happen through resiliency, dedication, and a commitment to learning and growing.

The values that guide me in both my work and personal life include transparency, resiliency, loyalty, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact. I take pride in reaching out to help others, being a go-getter, and staying true to my word. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, socializing, and practicing meditation to stay grounded and balanced.
