About Omolola
Omolola Atanda is a dedicated statistician and academic professional whose career spans banking, research, lecturing, and secondary education across multiple countries. After working in the banking industry from 2008 to 2010, she traveled to Turkey in 2012 on a scholarship to study medical statistics, later serving as a research assistant before returning to Nigeria. There she worked as a lecturer and medical statistician at a university, rising to head of department while teaching statistics and mathematics. In 2022 she moved to the United Kingdom, where she became head of the Department of Math and Physics at St. Andrews College in Cambridge. She later relocated to the United States and now works as a high school math teacher in Missouri, instructing students in college mathematics and advanced placement courses while serving as Real World Learning Coordinator. She holds a PhD completed in 2024 and maintains active research interests, including developing models for teaching mathematics and using mathematical models to predict disease patterns. Omolola Atanda is affiliated with the Royal Statistical Society in London, the Chartered Statistician of Nigeria, and the International Biometric Society. Her professional journey reflects a commitment to education and research, including coordinating a foundation to support underprivileged girls' access to schooling in Nigeria and teaching in rural villages in Potakot in 2009.
