About Onika
She is a dedicated social work and substance use counseling professional with a strong commitment to supporting individuals and families through evidence-based practice and compassionate care. Currently serving as a Substance Use Counselor in a MAT Program and Outpatient setting, she provides counseling and support to individuals navigating recovery. She also serves as a Notary Public for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Her clinical experience includes serving as a Targeted Case Manager and MSW Graduate Student/Counselor at Victory Behavioral Health, Inc., where she provided individual and family counseling, and as an MSW Graduate Student/Counselor at Augment MC, where she focused on school social work and group and family counseling. She also served as a Social Service Worker at Kentucky CHFS – DCBS, where she conducted child abuse investigations and appeared in court. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Community Care & Counseling with a focus on Marriage & Family Counseling at Liberty University and holds a Master of Social Work from Eastern Kentucky University. She is recognized as a compassionate, resilient, and client-centered professional who is deeply committed to healing, advocacy, and strengthening communities through social work and counseling.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My passion, which is fueled by my lived experience and drive to make a difference in the world, no matter how big or small - at least I am trying to do something!
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be afraid to fail. Everything you need to succeed is within you - sometimes we have to look beyond the surface level to find the answers we seek. Do not let fear and guilt determine your opportunities or path along your discovery journey. Educate yourself and establish independence, chase your biggest dreams - leave no room for regret 20 years from now. You can have it all - it's about taking a strategic route and moving through life with INTENT!
