Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of dedication, discipline, and a commitment to helping others grow. Over the course of my 20-year career in the United States Air Force, I honed my leadership skills and developed a passion for guiding teams to achieve their full potential. In my current role as a store manager in retail, which I obtained through the SkillBridge program, I continue to apply these principles by ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and managing staff effectively.

My background includes serving as a military training instructor in the Air Force, where I helped individuals develop as professionals and team members. I also earned a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management and a professional manager certification, which have strengthened my ability to oversee complex operations and support organizational goals. I am a fast learner and a results-driven leader, capable of managing multiple projects and mentoring diverse teams.

Throughout my career, I have led logistics and operational efforts on a large scale. As Medical Logistics Flight Chief at the 87th Medical Group, I oversaw supply acquisition and management, facility operations, and medical equipment programs for the only Department of Defense Tri-Service Base. I managed a 26-member team supporting an eight-building medical campus with 13 clinics, providing care to 16,000 beneficiaries on a $21M budget. With 15 years of experience in medical equipment maintenance, three years in healthcare logistics operations, and extensive personnel training experience, I am ready to embark on the next phase of my career and continue making a meaningful impact in society.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received comes from the mentors and role models who have shaped my journey. Growing up in the Girl Scouts instilled in me the importance of building a strong foundation, a lesson I continue to carry forward through my own experiences and by encouraging my daughter’s participation. I have also been inspired and supported by individuals like Michael Petroski, my recruiter and store manager, whose guidance has helped me navigate my career and pursue my goals.

Outside of work, I have a variety of personal interests that keep me energized and creative. I am an avid crocheter, currently working on Christmas ornaments, and I hope to expand my skills to making socks. I also love camping, running, and staying active, which complements my passion for the sporting industry and helps me bring energy and dedication to my professional role.

I believe that drawing inspiration from both mentors and personal passions allows me to stay motivated, continuously grow, and make meaningful contributions in both my career and everyday life.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering any industry is to embrace commitment, perseverance, and the guidance of mentors. Growing up in the Girl Scouts taught me the value of building a strong foundation, and I see the same lessons in supporting my daughter’s growth. Mentors like Michael Petroski, my recruiter and store manager, have been instrumental in shaping my professional journey, and I encourage young women to seek out leaders who inspire and challenge them. I have always appreciated the impact of strong leadership and strive to pay that forward in my own career.

For women entering management roles, especially in male-dominated industries, I emphasize the importance of education, self-confidence, and thorough preparation for the challenges ahead. It’s critical to stay true to yourself while developing the skills and resilience needed to succeed.

Additionally, I encourage building a strong network of peers and mentors. Engaging with high-achieving women through national or professional networks provides invaluable support, insight, and opportunities. Combining mentorship, personal integrity, and networking will empower young women to thrive and lead with impact.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are commitment and perseverance. I believe in staying dedicated to my goals, following through on responsibilities, and approaching challenges with determination. These values guide how I lead teams, support others, and pursue personal growth, helping me remain focused, resilient, and true to my principles in all aspects of life.
