Her Story
About Oxana
Oxana Hendrix, CPA, is an accounting and tax professional and the Founder and CEO of Neva CPA Financial Studio, LLC. With approximately 10 years of experience in accounting, she has developed expertise across business and individual tax services, tax compliance, international taxation, tax research, and financial advisory. Her professional career began with a Big Four accounting firm in New York City, where an early internship involving both audit and tax helped her identify her particular interest in taxation. After discovering that tax aligned more closely with her interests and strengths than audit, she built her career around tax accounting and advisory work.
Before establishing her own firm, Hendrix held senior tax positions with EY, Bausch Health Companies, Dentsply Sirona, and Red Ventures. Her experience has included federal, state, local, and international tax compliance; tax provision work under ASC 740; tax authority inquiries and audits; technical tax research; and process improvement and automation. At Bausch Health Companies, she worked with complex international filings and supported tax planning related to legislative changes, acquisitions, and new business initiatives. Her current work reflects her broader goal of serving both business and individual clients while providing financial guidance tailored to their needs.
Hendrix holds an MBA in Accounting from Coastal Carolina University, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA, as well as a Master of Computer Applications in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management from West Texas A&M University. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina. Throughout her career, Hendrix has emphasized determination, persistence, continuous learning, and resilience. She has also participated in career coaching and mentorship initiatives for college seniors, particularly women entering accounting, reflecting her commitment to helping the next generation recognize opportunities, overcome setbacks, and pursue ambitious professional goals.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Oxana
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my determination and persistence. When I set a goal, I remain committed to achieving it and do not allow setbacks or discouragement to stop me. I believe in continuing to move forward, learning from each experience, and staying determined even when the path becomes challenging. That persistence has been one of the defining characteristics of my professional journey.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the most important lessons I have embraced is to know what I want and not allow setbacks to convince me that I cannot achieve it. Careers rarely unfold exactly as planned, and failures or unexpected changes can become valuable learning experiences when approached with curiosity rather than discouragement.
I also believe in taking opportunities rather than allowing fear to make the decision for me. During my time at a Big Four firm, I participated in career coaching and mentorship programs, particularly supporting college seniors preparing to enter the accounting profession. That experience reinforced for me the importance of encouraging others to apply for the opportunity, raise their hand, learn from the experience, and keep moving forward.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering accounting and tax not to be afraid to put themselves out there, even when entering areas of the profession that may feel male-dominated. Apply for as many opportunities as possible, be yourself, and do not allow preconceived notions or challenges to hold you back.
You may experience failure, but failure can teach you something and help you approach future opportunities differently. Stay determined and do not allow challenges to discourage you. The profession is changing, and there are increasingly more opportunities for women to pursue education, leadership, and advancement. It is important to recognize those opportunities and have the confidence to pursue them.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I see growing opportunities for women in accounting and the broader financial profession. The field is changing, with more doors opening for women to pursue leadership roles and additional education. I believe these opportunities create an environment where women can continue expanding their careers and professional influence. Ultimately, it is important to recognize those opportunities and take the initiative to pursue them.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family is at the heart of my values, alongside integrity, accountability, accuracy, trust, and responsibility. Professionally, I value continuous learning, intellectual curiosity, collaboration, fairness, professionalism, and maintaining confidentiality and respect in every client relationship.
I also value resilience, growth, empowerment, and long-term thinking. These principles help me pursue excellence in my professional work while also building a meaningful and fulfilling personal life.
