About Paige
Paige Birks is the President of Modern Plumbing and Heating, a plumbing and heating company based in Kalispell, Montana. She has served in this leadership role for the past 10 years, bringing a diverse background in interior design and project management from custom home construction projects. Her experience working alongside builders, contractors, and homeowners has provided her with a strong foundation in project coordination, client relationships, and the importance of delivering quality results.
In her role as President, Paige oversees customer service, business operations, and strategic initiatives that support the company’s continued growth. She also plays an active role in the company’s marketing efforts, including radio advertising and email campaigns, helping strengthen community awareness and customer engagement. Under her leadership, Modern Plumbing and Heating has been recognized as the Best of Flathead for nine consecutive years and received the 2018 BBB Torch Award for Ethics, reflecting the company’s commitment to integrity, professionalism, and exceptional service.
Paige attributes her success to the strong work ethic she developed early in life, beginning with delivering newspapers as a child and learning the value of responsibility, independence, and dedication. Passionate about the future of the skilled trades, she is working toward launching an alternative high school program focused on skilled trades, culinary arts, and sustainability to inspire the next generation. She encourages young women entering the industry to lead with confidence, embrace their strengths, and recognize the value they bring through skills such as multitasking, attention to detail, and problem-solving.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the strong work ethic and sense of responsibility I developed from a young age. As a child, I learned the value of independence and initiative by delivering newspapers in elementary school, creating my own systems, managing my responsibilities, and earning my own money. Those early experiences taught me the importance of dedication, consistency, and taking pride in the work I do. I have carried those values throughout my life and believe that success is built through the small, everyday actions, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the determination to always give my best.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to never feel intimidated, even when working in environments that may be traditionally male-dominated. Confidence, preparation, and expertise are key to making an impact. When you know your field, trust your abilities, and continue developing your skills, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Women bring valuable strengths, including the ability to multitask, strong attention to detail, and a unique perspective that can drive success. By believing in themselves, embracing their capabilities, and mastering their craft, women have the ability to excel and make a lasting impact in their careers.
