Her Story

About Pallabi

I currently work as a project manager and team lead for a software development team supporting government contracts. My career has been focused on government contracting and developing new applications, with expertise in product development and building products from scratch. I work with cross-functional teams including software developers, engineers, and stakeholders. My day-to-day involves one-on-one sessions with my user community to understand their pain points, documenting and prioritizing requirements, and developing strategies to make applications better and more efficient for users. I work closely with my development team to help them understand customer pain points in technical terms, and I report to higher management by creating KPIs and presenting how we're improving the product and project efficiency. What I'm most proud of is the relationships I've built with my clients. No matter how many projects or teams I've worked with, I've made an impact such that clients always reach out to me for inputs and suggestions on their future projects. I'm passionate about creating products that are useful for the user community and make their work more efficient. That's what inspired me to get into product development - seeing a huge community using a product I helped build from start to finish.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of my mentors told me that patience is key to success. I think that helped me a lot dealing with my teams and working with co-workers. You create an impact by being empathetic towards your team member or whomever you're working with. Having that patience and empathy has been instrumental in how I approach my work and relationships.
