Her Interview
Ten minutes with Paloma
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to outworking everybody else around me, blocking out the noise from people who judge your choices, staying focused on my goals, and moving towards them whether people understand it or not. The pressure is a privilege, especially as an international finding a job in the U.S.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received is that you have to outwork everybody else around you to get ahead. People will judge you whatever choice you make, so block out the noise and stay focused on your goal.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young professionals to find good friends that are a good influence and not a distraction, and that add more value than they take. That is the only way that you're gonna make the best out of your college experience and come out with the tools that you need to succeed.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There's so many things that can be classified as marketing. A lot of people actually don't understand what marketing is, so being able to understand which field in marketing you want is definitely challenging.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Discipline and hard work gets you places. My mom was always a working woman and they were workaholics but told me that discipline and hard work gets you places. You get out of it what you put into it.
