Her Story

About Pam

Pam Emery-Chace is a Business Development Manager in the physical therapy industry, with 32 years of experience in program management and business development. At Select Physical Therapy, she builds strategic partnerships with orthopedic groups, hospital systems, and clinics to grow the patient base across Kansas City and Mid-Missouri. She manages her sales territory with discipline, regularly exceeds her monthly and quarterly goals, and coordinates attendance at healthcare conferences to secure new contractual opportunities. Her strengths include identifying and nurturing referral relationships, and she uses brand and strategic marketing to strengthen the company's presence in a competitive healthcare landscape.

Before joining Select Physical Therapy, Pam spent more than two decades as Regional Marketing Manager at California Casualty, where she led an award-winning field marketing team. She managed more than 25 accounts across 17 states, serving public safety, law enforcement, healthcare, and education professionals, and oversaw national and regional public sector conferences, tradeshows, and lead generation efforts. She later served as Program Manager at Ability KC, a nonprofit employment program in downtown Kansas City that helps people with disabilities identify meaningful careers. There she developed community employer partnerships, including a workforce development partnership with the North Kansas City school district that created a new revenue stream.

Pam approaches every client relationship with a gap model, exploring the client's current situation, desired outcomes, risks, and benefits to uncover their true needs. She credits her success to consistency, persistence, and making memorable connections by engaging people as individuals, and she recognizes the influential women who opened doors early in her career. A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, Pam is a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She is the parent of three college athletes and enjoys weight training and podcasts.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Pam

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to 32 years of experience in business development and program management, and to being memorable. I make a point of getting to know my clients and customers as people and connecting with them on a personal level. I am also grateful to several influential women early in my career who paved the way and gave me opportunities to learn what it takes to succeed through hands-on experience. Outside of work, I am the proud parent of three college athletes, and I enjoy weight training and podcasts.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Focus on time management. Working smarter, not harder, takes time to learn, so be patient, be persistent, and never give up. The work can be a grind, but your hard work and effort will pay off. You may not see results right away, but if you stay consistent with your call cycles and relationship development, they will come. What has made my career successful is being memorable: truly getting to know your clients and customers, not only on a personal level, but by connecting with them as human beings.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I place a strong value on fostering impactful business relationships built on collaboration, consistency, and genuine personal connection. In my work, I focus on expanding access to patient care through strategic partnerships with healthcare providers. I also believe in community outreach and in being a trusted partner to the providers and patients I serve across Kansas City and Mid-Missouri.
