Her Story
About Pam
After graduating from college, I began my career as a head volleyball coach in Atlanta, Georgia, where I recruited student-athletes and first discovered my passion for recruiting. I then transitioned into inside sales at an aerospace company, where I also served as a new employee ambassador—meeting with new hires, helping them get acclimated, and being a go-to resource for questions and support.
During COVID, my role shifted to fully remote, and with limited interaction, I found it challenging as someone who thrives in a people-focused environment. That experience ultimately led me to pursue recruiting, which I truly enjoy because it allows me to build meaningful connections and make a real impact. Helping someone secure a better opportunity can positively influence their entire family. While I’m not currently in a formal leadership role, my team often seeks my input due to my experience, and I take pride in being someone others can rely on for guidance and support. I’m known for being approachable and creating a welcoming environment where people feel comfortable asking questions. I recently completed my Professional Recruiter Certification through AIRS training and will be stepping into a senior recruiter role, where I’ll take on additional responsibilities.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to have someone in your corner who will give you honest, constructive feedback. For me, that person has been my friend Dani. Whenever I’m preparing for an interview or updating my resume, she takes the time to review it and helps me clearly connect my strengths and values to the role. Before interviews, I often call her because she has a great ability to articulate things in a way that truly resonates.
What I value most is her honesty, she doesn’t just tell me what I want to hear, she tells me what I need to hear. She’ll highlight my strengths and encourage me to lean into them, while also pointing out areas where I can improve. That kind of direct, thoughtful feedback has been invaluable in my growth.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say the best advice is to stay true to yourself. In recruiting, success is built on relationships and trust, and when you’re authentic, people naturally connect with you. Even when you don’t initially have something in common with a candidate, there’s almost always a way to find a connection, whether it’s a place they have lived, a school they attended, or even a shared interest you notice on their resume or LinkedIn profile.
Taking the time to find and build on those connections, while staying genuine, creates stronger relationships with both candidates and hiring managers. That authenticity becomes the foundation for trust, and ultimately, that’s what drives successful recruiting.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me are kindness, connection, and authenticity. I’ve always been someone who treats others with respect and genuine care. That’s something that has stayed consistent throughout every stage of my life. I love connecting with people, making them feel welcome, and creating a positive experience. You never know what someone may be going through, and sometimes a simple smile, a conversation, or just being present can make a difference. That same mindset carries into my career in recruiting - building relationships, communicating openly, and creating trust comes naturally to me because it aligns with who I am. When your personal values align with your work, it makes what you do both meaningful and fulfilling.
