Dr. Pamela Preston Boylan, Ed.D
Dr. Pamela Preston Boylan is a dedicated educational leader with over 28 years of experience in public education, including 14 years as an Elementary Principal with Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland. Throughout her career, she has been committed to creating nurturing and academically rigorous environments that empower students to reach their fullest potential. Her leadership style reflects compassion, integrity, and a steadfast belief in the transformative power of education.
Dr. Boylan earned her Master’s degree in Elementary Education from The George Washington University in 1997 and later achieved her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix in 2023. Her academic journey mirrors her lifelong passion for learning and her commitment to continuous growth as an educator and leader. She has been recognized for her service and dedication, most recently receiving the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Award for service from Scouting CARES in 2025.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Boylan is deeply engaged in her community and gives her time to organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House and The Alzheimer’s Foundation. In her personal life, she finds joy in spending time with her new grandson and her grandpuppy. She also enjoys sewing, traveling, and dancing—pursuits that reflect her vibrant personality and zest for life.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my family, especially my mother, who inspired and encouraged me to pursue a career in education and become a principal. Her unwavering support and belief in my potential have shaped my journey. Above all, I’m driven by the desire to provide my daughter with a great life and to set an example of perseverance, purpose, and leadership.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Find opportunities to work in areas you are passionate about because then each day brings growth and a renewed sense of purpose.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: do what you love. When you’re passionate about your work, it fuels your motivation, strengthens your resilience, and makes every challenge worthwhile. Stay true to your purpose, keep learning, and never be afraid to take up space in any room—you belong there.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Education is under attack on so many levels. Remain steadfast, committed, and knowledgeable as you navigate through the many challenges. There will always be peaks and valleys, but children need the adults to keep them first in all decisions.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I strive each day to remain humble, honest and true to the mission and stakeholders I serve. Authenticity is important.
