About Pamela
Pamela Bright-Moon is an accomplished producer, director, broadcast engineer, and arts leader whose career in television production and media spans more than four decades. A graduate of California State University, Los Angeles with a bachelor's degree in Radio and Television Broadcasting, she began her career in the mailroom at CBS Television City before advancing into highly technical broadcast operations. She later earned a Master of Arts in Modern Art History, Theory and Criticism from Azusa Pacific University, further strengthening her creative and leadership expertise.
Following her retirement from CBS in 2019, Pamela expanded her commitment to storytelling and community empowerment by founding Moon Global Studios in Inglewood, California, a creative production hub that provides affordable recording, podcasting, photography, film, and post-production services for artists and entrepreneurs. She also leads With Grace Productions, producing award-winning documentaries and films, including Respect My Crown: The Rise of African American Women in California Politics, which has earned recognition for highlighting the contributions of Black women leaders throughout California's history. Her work consistently combines technical excellence with a passion for preserving important cultural stories and amplifying underrepresented voices.
Beyond her production career, Pamela is deeply committed to arts education and community development. She founded the Moon Global Foundation to provide youth with hands-on training in digital filmmaking and media production, helping cultivate the next generation of creative professionals. She also serves as a Commissioner for the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, where she has held executive leadership roles, and is developing the Black House LA artist residency to support artists from the African diaspora. Guided by perseverance, innovation, and a collaborative spirit, Pamela continues to create opportunities that empower communities while advancing the arts through education, mentorship, and creative leadership.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Pamela
01What do you attribute your success to?
Persistence and creating my own opportunities. I know that talent exists right outside the door and you don't have to go search for it, just let it come to you. Being open to ideas, no one has a bad idea, every idea is great. I listen to pitches all the time about projects and that has inspired me every day to get up and be available for what's out there for me to do.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Stay with it, be true to themselves, know their value. Tune out the negativity, turn internal, know that whatever gift you have been given, that it is yours, and you need to pursue it. Listen to yourself.
