Her Story

About Pamela

Pamela Connell has been an attorney since 1985. She practiced law for over 30 years, working as a prosecutor and serving on the governor's clemency commission, which she considers one of her most notable professional achievements. She holds both a law degree and a master's degree in psychology. After retiring from her legal career, Pamela started a small LLC import rug business that did not succeed, but she had already begun writing and went on to publish two books. She is also an artist and a member of the Contemporary Arts Center of Peoria as well as the ACLU. Pamela attributes her success to her supportive parents and values kindness, integrity, honesty, and uplifting those less well situated than herself. She advises young women to be who they are and accept themselves, noting that it is okay not to live up to everyone's expectations. She sees the biggest challenge in her field as living in a divided world while maintaining positive relationships with people of differing experiences and outlooks.
