Her Story
About Pamela
Pamela Earvin is a massage therapist based in Columbia, South Carolina. She began her training at Southeastern College in November 2025 and completed the program in June, entering the field approximately eight months ago. Before pursuing massage therapy, Earvin worked as a vehicle title specialist, processing title work and registrations at the DMV beginning in 2017 and subsequently at various dealerships and third-party agencies. She chose to transition into massage therapy because she enjoys helping people achieve pain relief, stress reduction, and improved well-being through hands-on care. In addition to her practice, Earvin has been developing natural body products since 2020, including oils, lip gloss, and Healing Dew, which she creates using herbs and essential oils for personal and family use. She works independently on a contracted basis and plans to expand her services by obtaining certifications in aromatherapy and hand massage while eventually opening her own salon. Earvin attributes her career path to her faith, noting that she walks by faith even on challenging roads, and she emphasizes values of treating others with respect and patience with oneself.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Pamela
01What do you attribute your success to?
I try to walk in faith. When I was in school, I couldn't find a job, and I used to tell people all the time that I'm walking by faith on a rocky road with no tennis shoes, but I know God has me going the right way. It was tough. It's still tough, you know, I'm just getting started. But, hey, God has me. I'm walking in faith.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice that I ever received, I would say stay focused. Believe in yourself and have faith that everything you do will work. And if it's meant for you, God is not going to steer you the wrong way. I try to walk in that.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be patient with yourself. It's not an easy thing. On the road to knowledge, you have to be patient. You have to study, you have to keep going and believing yourself. Because it's not easy. Life isn't easy, but you have to be patient with yourself. And it starts with self. You have to love yourself and be patient, just so you can keep on your, on your, on the right track. Patience is key.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I don't take everything personal, especially dealing with others that are coming to me for help. Just treating others as I would like to be treated, regardless. This is how they may treat me. Just treat others right.
