Her Story

About Pamela

Pamela Goldman serves as the founder and director of Museum Mile Contemporary, a museum she established in 2021 following the COVID outbreak in honor of her father and all those who passed away during the pandemic. The museum focuses on healing the human spirit and psyche and operates as an international venture with locations in Italy and New York City, where she is based in Manhattan. With 30 years of experience as an artist, Goldman holds final authority on the artists selected for exhibitions, scouting photographers, sculptors, painters, installation artists, and video artists, typically showcasing one or two per month. She earned her bachelor's degree from Barnard College at Columbia University in 1987, attended the Yale University Studio Art Program, and studied Renaissance art in Italy during her sophomore year of college. Goldman attributes her success to a strong support system including her husband, trustworthy business alliances, and self-reliance, and she advises never giving up, remaining open to life's possibilities, and embracing trust and love in both work and personal endeavors.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Pamela

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a great support system of people I can depend on and rely on for being honest with me, a great partner in life, my husband, great business alliances with trustworthy people, and self-reliance, depending and counting on myself is truly the cornerstone. In particular is the decision to not wait for 'permission' to follow your dreams wherever they may lead. This concept of a 'higher authority' holds so many people back, both men and women. Every 'expert' began somewhere... so own it and begin today!

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is never ever, ever, ever give up, a quote derived from Winston Churchill.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Do not shut yourself off, remain open in your mind and in your soul to the possibilities of life. That's advice I would give to anyone about life in general too.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges are finding great art, showing it responsibly, and keeping my own art interests alive and sharing it with the world. Everything is a challenge in a good way and it's all exciting, and everything can be overcome with love.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Trust is the most important thing, and sometimes it takes years to build and sometimes it's instantaneous. And love, as I said. Also, regarding work and love ... If they can intertwine, that's really special.
