About PAMELLA

Pamella Yates is a writer and strategic operations safety manager based in Idaho. She has spent her entire career in the field, drawing on experiences across the food industry, construction, and hospitality. Pamella currently writes the Mountain Guru Chronicles newsletter and serves as a strategic operations safety manager working online. Earlier in her career she worked as a safety professional at Tamarack Resort for six years and oversaw construction projects with her father's company, managing a team of 25 people on tasks including road and foundation building, subdivisions, water and sewer lines, creek restoration, and yurt pads. She earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in business from the University of Phoenix in 2015 and completed six to eight months of training with the National Association of Safety Professionals. Pamella is a published author who received a money award from AWAI and maintains memberships in the Professional Riders Alliance and AWAI. She volunteers daily and shares free information of value to the public through her newsletter.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my father my hero, a legend , a fireman, EMT, backhoe excavator business man. he loved playing cards, his guitar, driving and restoring fast cars, and his friends. my mom for watching my children while I worked and always being there for me through thick and thin times.

My children who endured the most as I went the aches and pains of life athe good and the bad. Through out all the upsets in our family life they still know who there MOm is and they still love me, a bond that can not be broken. My hometown community for when we needed them most the come together and all together we grew as one, and it is what unity is all about.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My dad always told me, you never have to do anything. If you don't want to do something, you don't HAVE to do it.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be calm, take nothing for granite, show gratitude, and light. Do you best and go above and beyond. Reach for the stars. Always give a helping hand.
