About Pamla
Pamla McNeer is a bookkeeper and tax preparer who runs her own business in Tennessee serving small businesses and startups. With over 20 years of experience in the field, she provides monthly bookkeeping, cleanups, federal and state tax preparation including sales tax for Tennessee and Mississippi, and payroll services. McNeer began her accounting studies in 2000, completing two years of college coursework, and earned a financial accounting certification from Harvard Business School. She is pursuing her Enrolled Agent credential with a longer-term goal of obtaining her CPA. McNeer serves on the board of directors for the Tennessee Chapter of the National Association of Tax Preparers and volunteers with 1x1 Ministries and Fayette Cares. Her professional journey began when she started her business to support her family, and she credits persistence, ongoing training, and mentorship for her growth.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would try my very best not to scare them away because we need more young ladies. I would figure out where they're at on their learning path and then guide them from there. I would encourage them to come shadow me, grab a cup of tea and talk, and let them try it for a while to see how fun and crazy busy it gets. Definitely coach them through how to get to where they need to be.
