Paradise Donaldson is a dedicated law enforcement professional currently serving as a Deputy Sheriff at St. Bernard Parish Prison in Chalmette, Louisiana. With a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Loyola University New Orleans, she combines academic excellence with hands-on experience in public safety and correctional operations. With over three years of experience in law enforcement, Paradise has developed expertise in defensive tactics, patrol operations, and corrections management. Her previous roles include work as a chiropractic assistant, teaching assistant, and various positions in customer service, all of which have strengthened her communication, organization, and leadership skills. She approaches her work with integrity, professionalism, and a focus on community safety and rehabilitation.

My past. It made me the person that I am today. It made me wanna be in the situation where I could help people and make a difference.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

To not give up and to keep pushing forward.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Do not become discouraged. You have to believe in yourself. This is a tough career and its male dominated. People already believe that we can't. Prove them wrong, remember we run the world.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Being a female. People don't respect us and they do not take us seriously. We have to do 10 times more work, just to be seen and heard.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity and honesty. All you have in this world is your word. Be honest with yourself and your peers. It helps with comminication and interactions within the community. People love when your a person of your words.
