About Pastor
I've been in ministry for going on 31 years now - August will mark 31 years since my husband and I got married, and we opened Jesus Church of Deliverance Ministries in September of that same year. My journey into ministry began when I met my husband over 30 years ago when he was a minister. We met at work, and though I kept turning him down when he asked me out, God had other plans. During our first movie date watching Inkwell with Lorenzo Tate, this powerful force came down on us - it was the love of Christ, and we felt God's love and then love for one another. We got married a year later, knowing it was ordained by God. My husband was called to preach and received confirmation from his pastor and church members. He opened our church with their blessing, and his former pastor is still proud of us today. I started as an evangelist, but something didn't feel right in my spirit. One day at work, I was led to go to the ladies' room where God slayed me in the spirit. I heard a voice saying 'you are a pastor.' I shared this with my husband, and as I grew stronger in preaching and prophesying, he received confirmation that God had called me to be a pastor. I was ordained and have been pastoring ever since. Recently, I was elected as district leader of my district - it happened so quickly that I barely had time to get my petition together, but I ran unopposed and received 99% of the votes. I'm also a Zumba instructor doing Zumba Gold for seniors and regular Zumba. I teach at a rehab center in Newark and at a building across from where I live. The testimonies are amazing - I've had women come in on wheelchairs and walkers who are now standing and doing Zumba. One woman who hadn't moved in years told me that during class, the Holy Spirit came over her and her arms and feet started moving. God is using Zumba as a healing ministry. I'm also a wellness nutrition coach and Herbalife distributor. I created my own meal plan based on research about my height, weight, salt and sugar intake, and lost weight in all the right places. My husband noticed my stomach was gone without me even telling him what I was doing! I've been with Herbalife for about 15 years and combine it with my Zumba work as a fitness and nutritional wellness coach. Beyond all this, I'm an actress, model, and producer. My production company is El Shaddai Productions, and we're working on our sixth Christian film called Glass House Waging War, which is part two of a previous film. We've shown our movies in AMC theaters in Newark, and now we have a distributor working to get our films on streaming platforms like Hulu and Netflix. I'm also modeling in a fashion show in August. My husband and I do extensive community outreach through our church - we run a food pantry every third Saturday and give out prepared grab-and-go meals every fourth Sunday. We also distribute nice clothing and shoes because we believe in giving quality items that people will appreciate. We work with The Hub in Orange distributing food as well.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
In the first place, there's gonna be a struggle when you're just walking into this. There's gonna be disappointments, but you still gotta keep going no matter what. When I was starting up with Zumba, it was like only a couple of people would show up, and I wanted to quit many times, but God told me no because He had a plan. I didn't know I was going to teach seniors and that healing would take place. I had wanted to quit, but every time I wanted to quit, something pushed me to go on. I would advise people to get as much information as you can on whatever your desire is or whatever you want to do. Get people that already done it - talk to instructors or professionals that already have their buildings and everything like that. You have to reach out because you can't do things on your own, especially when you first started. You gotta get researched and you gotta reach out. One thing - do not quit, no matter what. If you got that burning desire, then that's what you're supposed to do, that's what you were encoded for. Many times I wanted to throw in the towel, but God had plans for me that I didn't even know until it got off the ground. I didn't know that I was going to be with the seniors and helping them in their healing process. If I had stopped, there was a lot of people that wouldn't have been helped. The main thing is to keep locked in. You're gonna feel like it's unsuccessful, you're gonna feel like I'm gonna throw this towel in because nothing is happening, but keep going. If you got that burning desire, don't stop.
