I attribute my success to maintaining an unbiased and fair approach to leadership, staying adaptable in complex environments, and applying a strong work ethic to every challenge. I also credit my willingness to take on responsibility, continue my education, and approach problems with critical thinking and self-reflection.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my mentor, Dr. Daryl Thorne, who encouraged me to think critically, reflect on my goals, and continually challenge myself both professionally and academically.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to persevere, build strong professional networks, keep developing your skills, and use your experience and relationships to create opportunities for growth.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is navigating grant-funded healthcare and research environments, where funding cuts can increase workloads and limit resources. At the same time, there are great opportunities for professionals who combine healthcare experience with project management, HR knowledge, and compliance expertise, as organizations increasingly seek structured operations and stronger employee relations.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are fairness, integrity, perseverance, accountability, and continuous growth. I also prioritize spending quality time with my three children and pursuing personal interests like finger crocheting, watching Netflix, and listening to sports podcasts.
