About Patricia
Patricia Brady serves as a career coach in a high school, a role she has held for two years after retiring from a 35-year career at FedEx. In this position, she works daily with 9th through 12th graders to develop plans for life after high school, whether in college, the military, manufacturing, or other paths, while also emphasizing the importance of backup plans and timely graduation. A graduate of Rush College with a Bachelor of Science degree earned in 1985, Brady channels her passion for community impact into voter registration drives, where she has registered first-time voters and received letters of thanks from Michelle Obama in 2018 and 2019. She is a Sunday school teacher and holds leadership roles in several organizations, including as president of the West College DeSoto County Alumni Club, and memberships in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, the NAACP, the DeSoto County Democratic Party in Mississippi, and the Marshall-Desota County Federation of Women. Brady often shares her career advice with students: to be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, and to be late is to be forgotten.

Ten minutes with Patricia
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is to be early, because to be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, and to be late is to be forgotten. I share this philosophy with the children in the school systems to encourage them to show up and form good habits.
